"Nervous Bean" tells a story about a bean is journey to "cultivate the Tao and become an immortal". In the "bean world" where there is only a thought difference between a lunatic and an immortal, a bean that could have become an immortal was mistaken for a lunatic by secular people and was locked up in a mental hospital for treatment, thus becoming an out and out neurotic bean. In this mental hospital where all the beans are crazy, the "old naughty boy" neurotic bean does not forget his original intention and insists on cultivating the Tao, but in the eyes of the dean and nurses, the neurotic bean is just a model of neurosis.
